Sari Makki-Phillips started her career in photography back in 1992. She started working for different Editorial Publications such as The Los Angeles Times Magazine, Communication Arts, Los Angeles Magazine, W Magazine, Orange Coast Magazine, to name a few. Her work had landed on the covers of Newsweek Magazine, Orange Coast Magazine, Polaroid Corporations, among others. She's received awards for her personal work from Advertising Photographers of America (APA).
While busy with her photography work, Sari has also worked extensively as a Graphic Designer, and a Flamenco Dancer. Her ties with the Los Angeles and Spain's Flamenco Community has shifted her photography work to Stage Performances and Events work. She has photographed for many of Kala Koa Entertainment's Hawaiian Festivals, International Guitar Festival, and International Flamenco Festival. She has photographed many famous performers such Tommy Emmanuel, The Farrucos Family, Vicente Amigo, Diego El Cigala, Belen Maya, Joaquin Grillo, among others. She has recently commissioned by The Irvine Barclay Theatre to cover their Flamenco Series.
Sari's photography work has expanded in many major categories: Editorial, Advertising, Design, and Fine Art. A self-proclaimed frustrated Art Director, she's challenged herself to work in various fields of Photography and Design. She studied at the prestigious Art Center College of Design for Photography.
She lives with her family in Los Angeles, CA.
